Happy Half Birthday!

Where has the time gone? I am floored that 6 months of his life have gone by so quickly. He has changed so much in the past month it is scary. He has also been fighting ear infections to no end.....we are still dealing with them and as a mother it really breaks my heart to see him hurting. We are hoping at his 6m check up they are all clear. Fingers and toes crossed!

A few milestones for this month are:
  • Getting really good on his tummy, he lifts his head all the way up now and puts his arms out straight to support himself.
  • Sits up straight for about 30 seconds depending on his mood....he is getting better at balance and catching himself when he is wobbly.
  • His attention span has def improved, he can be in his jumperoo for almost an hr bf he gets board. This is a big change!
  • He is still sleeping pretty well despite the EI, I usually have to wake him up now in the mornings to get to work.
  • Staying at the pace of wearing clothes 3m ahead of his age. So in many things we have moved on to 9m sizes.
  • He is eating up a storm, he has had: Green Beans, Peas, Squash, Sweet Potatoes, Carrots, Pears, Bananas, Apricots, Apples/Blueberries, and Peaches.
  • He doesn't like any of the fruit that I have listed above! Go figure.

Practicing Sitting Up

{HI Mom! Im a little wobbly}

{See I told you ! Here I go!}

Hats on Monday; Flipflops on Sunday......Where or where is spring???

This was Monday......4 inches of snow and freezing cold.

Here we are on Sunday......at the park in a swing! This was Andrews 2nd time in a swing. The first time sadly I was not present for it but the girls at the daycare took the babies out back in Feb when it was so nice outside. So this is the first time it was captured on film. He didn't quite know what to think of it though and I think the wind was hurting his ears.

Andrews little buddy Eli and his parents came over on Sunday to have dinner and hang out. The boys had a good time on the walk and at the park. These 2 guys are going to be trouble this summer...we plan on joining the pool with Eli's mom and dad this summer.

Here is Eli, thoroughly enjoying the swings.

So in honor of my "little" babies half birthday we had a little photo shoot. I sent him to school in his "kiss me I'm Irish" shirt in honor of St. Pattys day coming up soon. I'm sure he was smothered with smooches. I know I couldn't resist.

Last but not least I captured some priceless Andrew time on video.

Believe me when I say he is growing too fast! I will update soon on his 6m doc visit from this week and our much needed trip North to see MiMi & Popo!

Snow Baby!

What a nice unexpected day off.....with snow! Snow in March in NC is pretty unheard of, it has happened but not since I was very young. So we took full advantage of the day off and spent time in the snow and playing inside. I think he enjoyed hanging out in the snow for the first time ever! I guess this can be considered a milestone!

For the past month Andrew has been fighting ear infections and I believe teeth are right around the corner. Sleeping has become hard to come by lately without some pain relief. I am sure once these first few break through he wont be as bothered by the pain. Or I like to think so and my fingers are crossed!

{My latest trick, I play with my feet ALL.THE.TIME}

{All snuggled after bath time....}

{Waking up after a decent night of sleep....Oragel is helping this little guy out}

{Getting read to go out and see the snow!}

{All bundled up! Lets go Ma!}

5 Month Update

Feels like it has been a while since i have updated but when looking back it has only been about 2 weeks. I was late with his 4m update so I guess I am right on schedule with this one.....even though he technically snuck a week in on me :)

As usual work and home life have been very busy. Andrew has had 2 bouts of ear infections the past couple of weeks so there has been a shortage on sleep because he would wake up in pain. That is finally over now and it looks like teething isnt too far behind. It just never ends!

Just a few small changes from last month:
  • Latest Weight: 16lbs
  • Now rolls back to tummy
  • Seems to have forgotten how to roll tummy to back :)
  • Found his feet
  • When in a laying position he is trying so hard to work those ab muscles to sit up.
  • Eats more solids....we have moved past cereal
  • Growing out of most of his 6m clothes due to his torso.....this boy is long! They fit fine in the arms but his legs are no match. We have moved to mostly 2pc outfits now since the 1pc dont seem to fit just right.

That is all I can think of right now. He is so funny how he will reach a milestone and practice it for a few days and then forgets all together how he done it the day before. I watch in amazement most of the time.

Pictures to follow:

I broke down and bought Andrew a Bumbo seat with a tray. I just thought it may help him sit up more and work those belly muscles too. Not to mention there will be lots of traveling in our future and the tray will help a ton!

The past 2 weeks in NC have been gorgeous! We have been walking outside in the neighborhood about everyday. I love my treadmill but anytime i can get us both outside it is a nice treat esp in the middle of Feb. Here is Andrew all bundled up on the day the weather started turning cooler again. It was our last 60 degree day and we took advantage with an hr walk. I also wanted to make sure his ears were covered the wind was up that day too. Isnt he the cutest?

Here are a few tummy time photos. He is getting so much better at getting up his elbows and looking around. He rolled over to his back quite easily on this day but like I said above he seems to have forgotten that he can do that now. He is practicing back to tummy instead.

A few shots I couldnt go without. The hands in his mouth are classic Andrew at this age. He has a lot to say too!

Here he is again practicing his bumbo skills. He can only handle it for so long before he gets tired. He is going to be sitting up in no time!

First taste of Green Beans.......

{What is this???? I liked my oatmeal just fine!}

{No more!}

These were taken on Friday before Valentines Day. What handsome Stary men I have. I am the luckiest lady in the world!

Well the next few months are jam packed as Spring comes upon us, March especially. Looks like we will be making a small but needed visit to Mimi and PoPos for a weekend and then many other things going on in between. For now though we continue to watch this little miracle grow and change everyday.

Solids, Little Buddies, Birthdays, Superbowl, & Bathtime

This is sure to be a long post but there have been quite a few things going on over the past week that are certainly blog worthy. I could make an entry for each one but lets face it its hard enough to get all these videos and pics loaded at one time much less making seperate entires. This might just be the most exciting entry yet. Here we go!

Solids: Someone started solids this week! In the form of rice cereal no less. I was a little apprehensive due to Andrews tummy issues but the pedi suggested this might be the best thing to try and "see what happens" not to mention Tim has been dying for the boy to have "real food". So here are a few pics from his "first time". Also a beloved video at the end.

{So ma......a new bib!}

{Oh what that heck....here is a smile for the camera!}

{Hmmm what is this?}

{Oh no......I am not so sure! Are you sure this is supposed to be good?}

{Proof that it might not be all its cracked up to be!}

{I decided to try on Daddys hat.....looks nice right?}

Little Buddy: So little Ryan came by on Friday to visit, Andrew and Ryan really havent been around each other since Andrew was really little. They were very curious.....they also liked to reach out and touch each others faces....then they would both turn to Jordan and I as if to say "he hit me" it was so funny to see their reactions!

{Im not so sure mommy......}

{Okay we kissed and made up....all better now}

Happy Birthday Shep!: Andrew attended his second ever birthday party on Saturday....little Shepherd turned 1.....he is getting so big! Congrats Alan & Steph for surviving that first year....I hope we usher it in as graceful as the two of you did! It was a super cute party!

{Daddy & I like to share toys}

Superbowl: Andrew attended his first Superbowl party last night hosted by Uncle Ethan & Aunt Katie. He was decked out in his Steelers gear as expected. We made it till half time, in which daddy wanted everyone to wear their 3D glasses.....so there were pictures taken all around!

{Okay guys partys over.....Im ready to go home}

Bath Time: So after Andrews spectacular Superbowl party he needed his bath....we have tried on occassion to have him skip his bath but he treats the little nap that follows just as a nap.....so the only thing that actually triggers bedtime for this little guy is a bath. I decided it was time for some bath time toys and the reaction that we got was priceless. These pictures/video are my faves.

{Wait that thing squirts water at me......Giggles ensue!}

This post to me is almost like a months worth of happenings, but sadly my friends all this occured in one week! Proving to me that my "baby" is growing so fast!
